The power of color!
How color brings life to our personality
Whether I’m painting a poster, sewing something new for my wardrobe, or rearranging a corner of my home, everything always starts with one thing: color. Color is my compass, it tells me where to go creatively, how I want to feel, and how I want to show up in my own world. To me, it’s not just about what I’m making, wearing, or decorating, it’s about the feeling behind it all. Color carries that feeling better than anything else.
Sure, texture and shape are important too (and trust me, I could talk about that all day, but let’s save that for another post). What fascinates me most is how color can completely shift our mood, spark memories, and create a sense of comfort and belonging, whether it’s in our living spaces or in what we choose to wear. Color is deeply personal. It’s energy. It’s emotion. It’s identity.
Over time, I’ve come to know exactly which colours I love and why I love them. I know which ones make me feel calm, which ones make me feel powerful, and which ones instantly lift my mood. I can walk into a fabric store or a paint shop and feel a magnetic pull toward my colors. I don’t always follow trends, I follow my palette!
And although I’ll occasionally venture off the path and flirt with a bold, unexpected pop (because sometimes you just need that playful moment), I always come back to my top three favourites. And we all know three is a magic number!
There’s something so satisfying about knowing your colors. It makes everything easier when putting an outfit together or simply plating flowers in your garden. It brings harmony and flow, from your wardrobe to your walls. My home feels like me because I’ve filled it with colors that speak my language. My closet reflects my personality without me saying a word. And the art I make feels like it truly belongs, like the final touch, accessory if you like!
Colour isn’t just decoration, it’s storytelling and self-expression. It’s a visual representation of what our inner self looks like. Do you know your color scheme?
